Painted glass retreat - day 2

The second day of the glass retreat was a long one. The day began at 8 AM and ended at 11 PM. But it was so much fun it flew by!

I worked on both the dragonfly and stargazer lily pieces.

I was able to complete the lily piece and it will be fired in the kiln tonight for the first of three firings that are needed to complete it. The first firing tonight will be to set the colors and prepare for the full fuse. The second firing will be a full fuse to merge the two separate pieces together into one. Finally the piece will be slumped into a mold to make a bowl.

I am extremely close to completing the firefly bowl as well. I need to do some touch ups on the bubble paint on the back of the top piece as there were some chips along the edge due to it being handled all day. Once those touch ups are complete it will go through the same three firing processes as the lily piece to create the final bowl.
